Alevi Identity in the UK Diaspora and the Alevi Encyclopedia
Published in Hybrid Magazine, this student project explores the identity experiences of second-generation Alevis in the UK and the challenges of transmitting Alevism under conditions shaped by historical oppression, marginalisation and lack of recognition. Based on an interview with Dr Ümit Çetin from the University of Westminster and an accompanying video, the project highlights Alevism as a lived faith and discusses the importance of the Alevi Encyclopedia in making reliable knowledge on Alevism more visible and accessible.
