The Baba Mansur Ocak and the Kureyşan Ocak
This video examines the historical and religious bond between the Baba Mansur Ocak and the Kureyşan Ocak, focusing in particular on the narrative of the encounter between Baba Mansur and Kureyş. In the Alevi path tradition, this encounter represents the relationships of mürşid–pir and pir–talip. Through an act of keramet, it makes visible both the inter-ocak hierarchy and a system of affiliation based on mutual consent.
The narrative of “Kureyş giving ikrar to Baba Mansur” symbolizes not only a historical event but also the organization of the Alevi path, the truth of keramet, and the continuity of inter-ocak etiquette. The video addresses the resonance of this narrative within the oral tradition and examines the ethical and ritual dimensions of relations between ocaks.
