Xızır (Hızır), Xızır Fast – Xızır Lokması – Xızır Kurbanı – Ab-ı Hayat

In this video, Pir Hüseyin Bildik offers a comprehensive discussion of Xızır, one of the most central figures in Alevi belief. Through rituals such as Xızır Orucu, Xızır Lokması, Xızır Kurbanı, and Xızır Adağı, as well as concepts such as Xızır Yolu, Ab-ı Hayat, and Devr-i Daim, he explains in detail the position and function of Xızır within Alevi theology. Within the context of Alevi rituals that intensify during the months of December, January, and February, the narration examines all legends, belief practices, and symbolic meanings related to Xızır from historical, cosmological, and religious perspectives. This account shows that Xızır is not only a savior figure, but also a principle that symbolizes the continuity of Alevi conceptions of time and existence.

This recording was made on 10–11 May 2025 at the Dortmund Alevi Cultural Center (DAKME), within the Rıza Şehri Academy, as part of the Pirler–Analar Workshop organized for the Alevi Encyclopedia project.
