ANNOUNCEMENTS

Call for Contributions to the Alevi Encyclopaedia: Share Your Expertise with International Readers in Three Languages

Bringing together nearly 500 academics and researchers, ASN represents a substantial body of knowledge and expertise in Alevi Studies. We invite you to help bring this knowledge beyond academic circles, share it with international readers and preserve it for future generations by contributing an entry to the Alevi Encyclopaedia.

With an average of 4,500 visitors each day, the Alevi Encyclopaedia is an open-access knowledge platform publishing in Turkish, English and German. An entry published here brings your expertise to researchers, students and Alevi communities across languages and countries, extending the academic and public reach of your work.

Contribute to an internationally registered knowledge and memory institution

The Alevi Encyclopaedia is officially listed in the registry of the German ISIL Agency at the Berlin State Library as the “Alevi Encyclopaedia – Digital Specialist and Memory Archive for Alevi Oral Traditions”, under ISIL DE-4607. ISIL — the International Standard Identifier for Libraries and Related Organisations — provides a unique, internationally recognised identifier for knowledge and memory institutions. Your contribution becomes part of a shared scholarly resource developing under this institutional identity, dedicated to systematically collecting knowledge and making it accessible over the long term.

A lasting, citable publication for your academic profile

The Alevi Encyclopaedia’s publication identity is registered under ISSN 3055-9928, the International Standard Serial Number. Through our Crossref membership, DOI registration for entries is now underway. A DOI — Digital Object Identifier — gives an entry a persistent identifier, making it easier to find, share and cite as an individual publication. You can include your contribution in your academic CV and publication list with clear bibliographic details, strengthening the visibility of your expertise in your chosen subject.

Extend the reach of your research through three languages

Our multilingual, open-access publishing model enables your research to reach readers across language communities and supports its use in teaching, research and public discussion. You may prepare a new entry or develop an accessible encyclopaedia entry from your previously published articles, book chapters or field research, subject to the relevant publication rights. This offers an opportunity to bring years of accumulated research to new audiences.

Help build a space where Alevi communities can speak through their own concepts

The Alevi Encyclopaedia seeks to make visible the concepts, worlds of meaning, emotions, narratives and symbols of Alevi communities that have historically experienced oppression, discrimination and silencing, situating them within their own historical and social contexts. It aims to develop a decolonial space of knowledge in which knowledge produced within Alevi communities and their diverse experiences constitute an integral part of scholarly debate.

Contributing an entry strengthens the international visibility of your expertise while supporting the preservation, critical discussion and transmission of Alevi knowledge and memory. We invite you to help build this shared, multilingual scholarly legacy, accessible to everyone.
